A while ago, I have picked up the next batch of chisels form the heat treatment shop. Although the tools are hardened under vacuum and therefore don't have a thick layer of schale, they still have a discoloration because of the process. The first job is to clean the chisels up,to grind the back flat and to scharpen them. After that they receive a handle and are ready to go.
Look at this beauty! A 50mm (2") wide custom made paring chisel, al cleaned up and ready for surface grinding the back and sharpening.
A large part of the current batch all cleaned up, ready for some grinding on the surface grinder.
