Designing
some new tools using advanced 3D CAD Software, Autodesk Inventor. Every tool
starts with a good design to get the dimensions right. The big advance of this
program is that you can alter all the dimensions till it is a perfectly
balanced design.
However,
despite this advanced design software, as a tool maker, I still want to have a
real prototype of the designed tool, so after the computer work it's time to do
some real work in the workshop. A wooden prototype is made according the just
made drawing.
Most of the
time, the design need to be improved till it has perfect ergonomics, appearance
and performance. After the prototype has been approved, the making of the real
tools will commence.
So, to make a long story short; from the initial idea till
a working, ready for sale tool, is a long way...
